SO MY PARENTS TOOK THE M.O. FROM MORRIS, AND J.O. FROM JOHN — MOJO. REPORTER: THE NICKNAME FITS THANKS TO HIS UNDERSIZED STATURE AND FIERCE COMPETITIVE NATURE.>>TERRIFIC GRAB. REPORTER: A MULTI-SPORT ATHLETE IN HIGH SCHOOL AT SKUTT CATHOLIC, HAGGE’S HEIGHT KEPT HIM FROM ANY MAJOR COLLEGE BASEBALL SCHOLARSHIPS.>>WHEN BASEBALL WASN’T GOING TO GO MY WAY, I WAS COMING TO LINCOLN ANYWAY FOR SCHOOL, STUDY THE ENGINEERING PROGRAM. AND BASEBALL IS JUST A LITTLE BIT OF AN EXTRA OPPORTUNITY, I GUESS. REPORTER: HAGGE HAS MADE THE MOST OF HIS OPPORTUNITY SO FAR, GOING FROM ONE OF THE LAST GUYS TO MAKE THE SQUAD, TO HITTING LEADOFF.>>COACH ALWAYS SAYS SEE BALL, HIT BALL FOR A FEW GUYS AND I FEEL LIKE I’M ONE OF THOSE GUYS. I WANT TO ELIMINATE THE STRIKEOUTS. OBVIOUSLY THAT WAS A PROBLEM FOR ME EARLY ON GOING TO THE DIFFERENCE FROM HIGH SCHOOL TO COLLEGE PITCHING. SO MY APPROACH IS JUST TO FIND A WAY TO GET ON FOR THE TEAM. REPORTER: THAT TEAM PART OF THE GAME IS WHAT HAGGE REALLY EMPHASIZES. DESPITE BECOMING ONE OF THE BEST HITTERS ON THE TEAM, THE FRESHMAN OUTFIELDER WANTS THE 2017 HUSKERS TO BECOME A COMPLETE TEAM AND A POTENT LINE-UP STARTING WITH HIM AT THE TOP OF THE ORDER.
